Student Participation
SFCC MOFAC welcomes students of all ages to the museum on the SFCC Highlands Campus. Walking the Wildflower Wayside Shrine Trail is appropriate for students in grade 9 through college.
Touring Hours
Museum touring hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Planning to Schedule a Tour
For reservations, call SFCC MOFAC early in the school year at 863.784.7240, or e-mail doctrowm@southflorida.edu.
- Schedule your tour at least three weeks in advance.
- You must have one adult chaperone per 10 students.
- Up to 50 students may visit the museum at once if at least five adult chaperones accompany them.
Arriving at SFCC MOFAC
- Museum staff will divide students into smaller groups. The Wildflower Wayside Shrine Trail is best experienced in groups of 10 students.
- Docents (museum guides) lead interactive tours for students on the Wayside Shrine Trail and in the museum.
- Tours last approximately 50 minutes.
Please review the following museum guidelines with your students and chaperones prior to your visit:
In the museum:
- Please help us keep the art safe. Do not touch works of art.
- No leaning on the walls or cases.
- Appropriate museum behavior is necessary to avoid accidentally bumping into works of art. Running, pushing, and roughhousing are not allowed.
- Photography is NOT allowed in the museum galleries.
On the trail:
- Please stay on the trail. Help us preserve this habitat for future generations.
- Please do not pick or touch the flowers.
- Wear closed toed shoes and hats.
- Bring water.
- Photography is allowed on the trail.
