Florida’s landscape, dotted with simple Cracker houses and acres of open range where cattle grazed under the watchful eyes of cowboys, reflects a bygone era. Three contemporary artists evoke this history in distinct ways. Ron Haase, architect and author, is known for his energy efficient Cracker-style homes. His recent paintings present a sense of place imbued by the regional landscape and vernacular architecture. Mindy Z. Colton has been involved with horses her entire life. She combines her passion for both art and equine in her unique sculptural works. Also on view is a selection of photos from the Cracker Cowboy Collection by Jon Kral.

“ Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity. ”
